Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Flavorfy collects, why, and the choices you have. Flavorfy is made by Dumanlar LLC ("we", "us"). We keep it short and plain on purpose.

The short version

  • We use your information to recommend restaurants and run the app. That's it.
  • We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.
  • You can use Flavorfy as a guest without an email address.
  • You can delete your account and its data at any time from Account → Delete account.

What we collect

  • Account details: your first name and email address if you create an account with email, or the name and email Apple shares with us if you use Sign in with Apple (Apple lets you hide your real email). Guests have no name or email on file.
  • Location: if you allow it, your phone's location while you use the app, or the city or ZIP code you type instead. We save it with your profile so restaurants can be sorted by distance. We never track you in the background.
  • Your tastes and choices: the cuisines, dietary needs, distance and price you pick, and the restaurants you save or pass on.
  • Things you post: reviews, ratings and review photos (these are public to other Flavorfy users), your profile photo if you add one, and which reviews you mark as helpful.
  • Friends: your friend code, friend requests and friends list, if you use Friends. Your friends can see the restaurants you save, unless you turn that off on the Friends screen.
  • Notifications: a device token so we can send the notifications you turn on.
  • App health: crash reports and basic performance data (through Google Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring) so we can fix problems. These don't include your reviews or messages.

What you do in the app

  • We keep a log of what you do with restaurants in Flavorfy: the ones you save, pass on or bring back with Undo, open the details or more photos of, get directions to or open in Maps, the picks we show you and when you ask for another one (with the mood you tapped), and the stars you give in reviews. Each entry has the time and where in the app it happened.
  • We use it to improve your recommendations and to understand how Flavorfy is used, so we can make it better. It isn't shown to other users and it's never used for advertising.
  • It's deleted when you delete your account.

Feedback you send us

  • When you use Account → Send feedback, we receive your message, any screenshots you attach, and details that help us fix problems: the app version, your iPhone model and iOS version, whether you're a guest, the screen you were on, your time zone, whether you were on Wi-Fi or cellular, and the last screens you visited and buttons you tapped before sending it.
  • It goes to our team's email inbox and our team dashboard, and we use it only to fix problems and improve Flavorfy. If you're a guest and say we may email you back, we use the address you put in your message only to reply.
  • Your feedback and screenshots are deleted from Flavorfy when you delete your account. The screenshot links in our email stop working after 7 days, and we'll delete the email too if you ask.

How we use it

  • To recommend restaurants that fit your tastes, budget and distance.
  • To show your favorites, reviews and friends across your devices.
  • To send notifications you've turned on, like your daily pick.
  • To keep the app safe (for example, filtering offensive words in reviews) and to fix bugs.

Who we share it with

  • Google Firebase stores the app's data and runs its servers (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics).
  • Apple, if you use Sign in with Apple.
  • Resend, the email service that delivers the feedback you send us (and reports about reviews or people) to our team's inbox.
  • Anthropic, only when you use "Pick for me": we send your taste preferences, the cuisines of places you've saved, and a list of nearby restaurants so its AI can choose one for you. We never send your name, email or exact location to Anthropic.
  • Other Flavorfy users see what you choose to make public: your reviews, review photos, your name and profile photo on those reviews.
  • We may share information if the law requires it or to protect people's safety.
  • We never sell your information or share it for advertising.

Your choices

  • Location: you can say no and type a city or ZIP code instead, or change it any time in your iPhone's Settings.
  • Notifications: turn them on or off in Account → Notifications or in your iPhone's Settings.
  • Your data: edit your profile and preferences in Account. Delete a review any time.
  • Delete everything: Account → Delete account removes your profile, favorites, reviews, photos, the feedback you sent and your activity log. Guests can use Account → Start over.

Keeping it safe

  • Your data is stored with Google Firebase and protected by security rules so only you can read your private information.
  • No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.

Our website and waitlist

  • If you join the waitlist on our website, we store your email address, the date you joined and the city (Atlanta). We use it only to contact you about the Flavorfy beta, for example to invite you.
  • We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising on the website, and we don't share waitlist emails with anyone.
  • To be removed from the waitlist, contact us and we'll delete your email.

Children

  • Flavorfy is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

  • If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app.
